ReVisions, Steven Isserlis

Steven Isserlis is becoming increasingly known as one of the world's greatest cellists currently alive. In this new CD he takes works originally for cello and piano, and handpicks his arrangers, he asks his friends and colleagues to rearrange the pieces for cello and orchestra. The closest one to home is the arrangement of the Ravel Deux melodies hebraiques done by Australia's Richard Tognetti for Isserlis's tour with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Also including works by Debussy and Prokofiev, this is simply a great collection of satisfying repertoire paird with great musicality.
