Musique a la Chapelle Royal de Versailles

This five CD collection is a very interesting look at the French Court musical tastes through the years of 1600s-1700s. Featuring the two favourite composers Couperin and Ramaeu there are also three lesser known who’s music nonetheless is inspiring and beautiful. Andre Campra, Nicolas Clerambault and Henry du Mont all have their motets included in this collection of fabulous sacred music. With some of the best period musicians around performing this is a must for someone looking out for an early music collection with a French twist.
