Ogilvy is an impressive new Scottish singer with some talented accompanist friends. Ogilvy delivers a very moving version of Dylan's 'Girl From the North Country' that is as good as it gets.
The songs are mostly traditional with a few Burns tunes and the odd well chosen contemporary song. Album closer 'The Kirkwall Light' is an original describing an afternoon on the isle of Orkney watching a flock of geese flying overhead in the fading Winter light segues back and forth between rhythmic guitar, blazing fiddle and Ogilvy's beautiful singing and is destined to become a celtic classic.
