William Barton is becoming known around the world for his Didjeridu playing, and it's not just because of the unusual nature of the instrument. There is amazing virtuosity and sensitivity in his performances. This disc from ABC Classics is an amazing collection of contemporary Australian classical music, featuring the new work written jointly by Barton and Matthew Hindson as well as a number of haunting solos by Barton. This is a particularly astounding group of works that needs to be listened to in great depth to truly understand the nature of them.
