It’s always a bit exciting and fabulous when a new John Burningham makes its way into the world. Burningham has been writing and illustrating children’s books since, well, olden times. But it doesn’t stop the little people from loving his work.

This newie is all about the adventures that cats get up to while we’re asleep. (Get dressed in special clothes, go to parties, try to avoid the dogs.) I always like to think of John Burningham as a slightly grumpy grandpa, who sneaks me lollies and tells me magical stories. Feel free to imagine that when you read this one too.
