Intriguer: Crowded House

Neil Finn and Crowded House effortlessly waltz through another selection of brilliantly penned songs. It’s easy to expect perfection from Crowded House, and because we often get it we can become a little jaded by such releases.

Not so here, with lyrics which make you want to read the CD booklet, musicianship which makes you sit up and notice, and vocals and harmonies which transport you to a comfortable place – that’s the power and majestic melancholy of Crowded House. Neil Finn seems to relish recording again with this quartet, and it shows.

'Saturday Sun' introduces the album, inviting us on a personal tour of his emotions and imagination with much beauty in store, none more -so than the blissfully sweet 'Elephants'. Beautiful bookends to a beautiful experience.
