Handel Operas are very popular for not only DVD releases but also reworkings into unusual and modernistic retellings. This is just one of those productions. Unusual set designs with weird costumes this is one of those productions for people who love the music of Handel but want something a little different to challenge them. The singers and orchestra are masterful musicians and what I do love about this new production is how they play up the comic moments of a cross dressing Achilles and other highly comedic moments in the opera.
