He has been in the music business for over 50 years. He has been both one of the hottest guitar players in the world, and an artist selling over 45 million records. Hits like 'Witchita Lineman', 'Rhinestone Cowboy' and 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix' have made him instantly recognisable to different genres of music fans. Keeping all this in mind, Ghost on the Canvas is a look back on his career and life; a life that has had its fair share of ups and downs.
Having recently been diagnosed with Alzheimers, Campbell has decided this is also his ‘farewell album’. It features songs written by Paul Westerberg, Jakob Dylan, Teddy Thompson and Robert Pollard, and includes guests Chris Isaak and Dick Dale among others. This album is a fitting final bookend to a great career and a great artist.
