Frederick Ashton, the Ballets DVD
Fredrick Ashton was the bastion of English Ballet. However the first ballet in this performance is a whimsical look at figure skating in Edwardian times. With a dry sense of humour, it is a lot of fun to watch. Also featuring are six miniature ballets, as well as a geometric Stravinsky. This is a terrific DVD for ballet lovers or young children who are totally obsessed with ballet, but with not very long attention spans. The bite-sized ballets are perfect if you are short on time or have a child who simply wants to dance.
