Fleet Foxes: Fleet Foxes

O bearded ones! Lead the people to your land of indie-folk melody!

This young hirsute five-piece from Seattle calls it ‘baroque harmonic pop jams’, but I think it’s easier just to say Bloody Good Record. Fleet Foxes have a unique sound, vaguely in the same league as Midlake or My Morning Jacket; but it is really the harmonies that drive the songs – echoes of the Beach Boys, or even Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

This is definitely folk for a new generation and a tremendously accomplished collection of truly beautiful songs.
