Down the Way: Angus & Julia Stone
This brother/sister duo has quickly become an accomplished musical act – and a very successful one at that. Their debut album A Book Like This in 2007 was a surprise hit here and was released to critical acclaim in Europe and North America.
They are clearly not a one-album wonder: Down the Way is a cracking album. Recorded over two years in many places while touring the world, production values have been enhanced (self-produced this time) and they stretch out a little more as their confidence as artists grows. But it is their songs which stand out; they’re both clearly good songwriters and I suspect this album is going to break big-time around the world.
An early contender for Australian album of the year.
