I am always excited to hear a new Joan album. Deep Field comes two years after the very beautiful To Survive. Joan is recording again with old friend Bryce Goggin. The resulting release contains ten intimate and uplifting songs. Touring duties took up much of 2009, then Joan completed an album of covers on the Reveal label and just this past year assisted Lloyd Cole on his latest release, Broken Record.
