In the liner notes of this CD, Freire says that he has special empathy for the music of Debussy and after listening to his playing of these works you would be hard pressed to disagree with him. This is truly beautiful music and in Freire’s skillful hands the strength of Debussy’s composing is indisputable. The entire disc has a dreamy and magical quality and in this reviewer’s opinion is one of the best CDs we have ever offered in Readings Classical Specials.
