Dark Night of the Soul: Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse
Ah, Danger Mouse – uber-producer and collaborator extraordinaire: will the magic ever stop? Unfortunately for Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous, the magic did stop, in March. Delayed from major release for about a year due to contractual disputes and much talked about on the internet, Dark Night of the Soul is a collection of unique songs all tied together by excellent production skills. A series of musicians feature, ranging from Julian Casablancas to Suzanne Vega, to Black Francis to Iggy Pop, and rounding out with the gothic-sounding title track, performed by none other than director David Lynch.
