Attention all fans: Oracular Spectacular is the MGMT sound of the past. Congratulations is the new direction of the Brooklyn-based duo and although there are hints of familiar MGMT synths and beats, there are no stand-alone tracks reminiscent of 'Time to Pretend' or 'Electric Fee'l. Instead, the boys have focused on exploring the realms of trippy psychedelia and have produced nine tunes that, as a whole, showcase their greater creative visions. The sounds are soulful and confused, simple and complex – an erratic journey for the musical senses. Play it from beginning to end, then again … and again!
