Colour Me Free: Joss Stone
Last year, Ms Stone threatened to forfeit her contract with EMI over their lack of support. It was going to cost her two million pounds to do this, so reluctantly she agreed to stay. This is her fourth and final album with the company and after several delays, it is finally released. It shows all her trademark guts and groove; her voice is just amazing and the arrangements are so slick. The track Free Me is an obvious dig at her recent battle with EMI and will attract attention for all the right reasons. Seasoned musicians Jeff Beck and David Sanborn appear on tracks and clearly raise the bar with their professionalism.
