This album is a collaboration between Norah and Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) and came together over six weeks of constant studio time. The result is a collection of contemplative and sometimes impressionistic forays about love gone bad. The voice of the wounded lover features throughout, but it’s not all doom and gloom, more a collection of thoughts expressed beautifully through her luscious voice. Norah remains passive and pure in tone while the mainly acoustic band just trickles around the edges, never interfering. It remains to be seen if her past fans tune in to the new Norah.
