Seattle’s Band of Horses follow up 2006’s excellent Everything All the Time with another album of radiant, wistful earnest music. As exemplified on 'Detlef Schrempf' (the album’s fourth-track tribute to their hometown’s German-born NBA cult hero who almost delivered the Seattle Supersonics a championship against the might of Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls in the 90s), Ben Bridwell’s warm vocal tones soar above a backdrop of luminous soundscapes that invite the listener in time after time. If you are a fan of Mercury Rev, My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips or sparkling tunes sit back and enjoy this album.
