Henry ‘Seaman’ Dan is truly An Old Man of the Sea. Now in his 87th year, he worked for decades in maritime industries as a deep-water pearl-shell diver and boat skipper.
His style mixes blues, hula, slow jazz, folk and Torres Strait Islander music - all sung with his velvety voice and unique musical phrasing.
His latest album features new songs such as ‘Walking Frame Blues,’ ‘Hook, Line and Plastic,’ ‘Old Man Blues,’ along with several ageless songs of the sea such as ‘Beyond the Reef,’ ‘Red Sails in the Sunset’ and ‘Love Letters in the Sand’.
