Review
Paul Barr
Longtime mates Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale have finally got round to making an album. And what an enjoyable listen it is, with their rough harmonies working beautifully together.
Miller’s great guitar playing is all over this, with forays into rockabilly, Cajun, soul and country rock. Top-notch fiddler Stuart Duncan adds his touch, and there’s pedal steel from Russ Pahl. The songs are fun and full of wit, including originals and some inspired covers. The album took just three days to make and shows off Miller’s production chops and commitment to spontaneous, rootsy music-making.
