How lucky are we to live on the other side of the world from the genius that is the Metropolitan Opera in New York and yet still get to see them in their full glory. Their latest release has been of the complete Wagner Ring Cycle on DVD and CD. This two disc set is their ‘best of’ the four operas. It’s a fabulous little collection of some of the greatest music ever written. Not only that, but this recording has some of the best operatic artists performing at the height of their powers. It’d be great to have this recording in the car before getting the complete set to watch in the comfort of your own home.
