'Hot Generation' is devoted to theunique Antipodean brand of vintage garage punk and includes many classics of the era, and also a good quantity of little-known gems and tracks previously not reissued anywhere, The flavour of the punk genre down under encompassed much the same ingredients as its beat/R&B scene - snotty vocals, abrasive guitars and attitude galore, coupled with sterling songcraft and a mod-fuelled class that sounds as good today as it no doubt did then, Well-known punk exponents like the Purple Hearts, Lost Souls, Showmen, Morloch and Tony Worsley are featured, but there's plenty of more obscure but equally ear-bending tracks like the incredible "I'm Still Mad At You" by the Soul Agents, "Watch Out" by the Id and a fuzz-heavy take on Spencer Davis' "High Time Baby" by future New Seeker (!) Peter Doyle.
