Bad Education

This is a rare film from Almodovar in that he directs a cast filled with leading men rather than his usual gaggle of women. The result is a cool and stylish drama that confronts the issue of sexual misconduct in the Catholic Church. Enrique is a Spanish filmmaker who is having trouble settling on a new project when Ignacio an old school friend and his first crush approaches him. Enrique barely recognizes his friend but agrees to read the short story he’s written. The tale turns out to be a semi-autobiographical account of their days in a Catholic boarding school.
