Anyone lucky enough to have seen Damien Rice in a live setting knows what a truly spellbinding experience it can be. This set, which was recorded in 2003, is a brief glimpse into his musical vision – and, as live recordings go, it’s a small triumph. Due to the time of recording, the set features songs from his first record O and some choice covers. Sometime collaborator and muse Lisa Hannigan dazzles on the Nina Simone cover of 'Be My Husband' and the vocal interchange between her and Rice on the non-album track 'Baby Sister' is mesmerising. Although a live album never quite manages to fully capture the magic of actually being there, this should keep fans happy until this wonderful performer graces our shores once more.
