Joined by Beastie Boys super-producer Mario Caldato Jnr (whose influence can be heard all over the aptly named ‘Funky Tonight’), John Butler and his trio consist of the man himself on many guitars and stringed instruments, Shannon Birchall on bass and the excellent Michael Barker on drums and percussion groove. They cruise through an album that is sure to keep them a favourite on the festival circuit.
