Whats Loreena McKennitt been doing since her last studio recording back in 1997? The constant traveller, reader of history and spiritual traditions has been collecting a few more musical collaborators to develop her dramatic fusion of Celtic and Eastern world music. With the help of a bunch of Greek musicians (bouzouki, lyre), an Armenian oud player and Krotala percussion ensemble plus her usual crack band of musicians, McKennitt is hoping to raise awareness of our collective past through music. An Ancient Muse wont disappoint her legion of fans, particularly those who enjoyed the sound of Mask and the Mirror and Book of Secrets.
