Bach’s monumental Cello Suites are regarded as the most significant works of a cellist’s career. In his modesty and thorough musicianship, Truls Mørk now feels he has reached a time when he can commit the works to record - a journey which has taken a long time to complete.

Recorded in Truls’ native Norway, this two-disc set fulfils his life-long dream to record these works, and one which he is extremely proud of.

With a large and varied discography on Virgin Classics, Truls really is one of the most accomplished and highly regarded cellists in the world today, performing with all the worlds leading orchestras, conductors and chamber ensembles.

Released in France in November 2005, this disc was immediately awarded the prestigious “Choc de l'annee du Monde de la musique” and we hope it will be similarly received in the UK.
