When Richard Thompson sings a song he makes it his own. Starting from the year 1068 with Sumer Is Icumen In and all the way to Britney Spears Oops!I Did It Again Thompson takes you on a musical journey that will leave you with a lasting smile. Thompsons guitar playing is of the highest order and he gets great support from Judith Owen (keyboards, vocals) and Debra Dobkin (percussion, vocals). When first released it was only on CD. Now it has a DVD (of a live concert from Bimbos in San Francisco) and two bonus CDs. This is a wonderful concept, and in the hands of a lesser performer would be a disaster. Beautifully packaged in small book form this is an excellent addition to any CD/DVD collection.
