Lizz Wright is one of the finest American singers of the last ten years. Her two prior albums were both excellent (Salt in 2003, Dreaming Wide Awake in 2005), but I think she has managed to surpass those with this stunning album. Her other albums have mixed lush pop and jazz; Orchard has more of a soul feel and her voice is just magnificent. Definitely a recommended release.
