I almost feel sorry for Ms Jones. Not for the 30 millions album sales or the riches that come with being one of the most successful artists of the Noughties. But from now on she is going to be marked more harshly by those envious of her fame and perhaps even those who own one of her previous albums. All this is a shame because there is no doubt that she possesses a very fine voice and has shown here she is more than capable of writing a good tune. Her jazz-pop-country style has sparked a renaissance in female vocal records, and with Not Too Late she has once again provided her students with a master-class.
