Angela Hewitt continues her critically acclaimed Bach series on Hyperion with this sparkling double release of all the keyboard concerti. The ACO and Richard Tognetti accompany her on this musical odyssey, which began in Sydney earlier this year. No-one disapppoints. Hewitt is in fine form bubbling, cajoling and lifting delicate melody to the fore. Her unquestionable technical prowess and musicianship are truly matched by the ACO who play with vibrancy and intuition whilst bringing out the subtleties of Bachs superlative harmonies. The Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 and the Triple Concerto in A minor are welcome extras adding yet more talent with ex-Melbourne flautist Alison Mitchell. Bach performed on piano is not for everyone but these are a worthy addition to anyones collection.
