This collection, which comprises two CDs and one DVD, may be the perfect Mother’s Day gift. The first disc of the CD section of this packages features Kiri Te Kanawa singing Handel –Let the Bright Seraphim, the Ave Maria of Bach/Gounod plus other works from Rachmaninov, Mozart, Faure and of course her classic reading of Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro which was featured in the film A Room with a View. Disc 2 showcases Kiri doing songs from My Fair Lady, West Side Story and Sound of Music and for good measure she also throws in some Kurt Weill, Richard Rogers and Cole Porter. The DVD is Kiri doing Canteloube’s Chants d’Auvergne which was filmed on location in the Auvergne, France with The English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jeffrey Tate.
