Dave Clarke reviews ( )

The second album proper from those crazy Icelandic dudes otherwise known as Sigur Rós is finally here. It is strangely named and the songs are listed only as tracks 1 to 8. The lyrics, what we can make of them, are the most indecipherable since Liz Fraser of the Cocteau Twins in the 80’s.

But the album is about the most beautiful thing I have heard this year. Best listened to in a quiet space somewhere on your own with the lights out. There are moments of sonic mayhem more like Godspeed You Black Emperor, otherwise this is terrain much like their beautiful debut, Agaetis Byrjun. Take a journey in your mind.
