The Basics

All in-stock titles are available to order online. Items that are currently not in-stock but are available can be back-ordered. Pre-ordered items will be shipped once they are in-stock. Prices are subject to change without notice. In-store availability is updated daily.

Freight

• Australia: $6.50 for 1 item, FREE for 2+ items (excludes magazines)
• New Zealand: $AUS7.95 for 1 - 3 items, $AUS10 for 4+ items
• Asia Pacific: 1.5 x weight (For example a 1kg package will cost $AUS15)
• Rest of World: 2 x weight (A 400g package will cost $AUS8) with a minimum freight cost of A$7.95.

If an order is shipping to a delivery address outside of Australia (excluding New Zealand) then GST will not be charged on the items on that order.

Readings does not accept cash or cheques for the payment of items online. Readings accepts no responsibility for the theft, loss or otherwise non-delivery of mailed cash or cheques.

Unfortunately we do not yet have the facility to accept payment for online orders with Readings Gift Cards.

Delivery

Items in-stock are dispatched within 48 business hours.

Delivery times include processing times. Orders placed on holidays or weekends will begin processing the next business day. Once items are lodged with Australia Post Readings cannot be responsible for lost or delayed packages but will endevour to track orders where possible. If delays are experienced please check in with your local Australia Post office and if your order hasn’t arrived after 3 weeks please contact us. Readings does not stock all items in one location. Please allow 5 business days for an item to arrive if it is transferred from another shop to be despatched from Carlton. We have five shops in Metropolitan Melbourne plus other off-site locations. Items that are currently not in-stock but are available can be ordered and in most cases can take an extra 2 to 3 weeks delivery time.

Readings makes every effort practical to ensure that delivery timeframes provided are accurate. However the delivery times stated for products on this site assume that the stock availability information provided by our suppliers is accurate and that delivery times are not adversely affected by unforseen events.

By placing an order online, you agree not to hold Readings liable for any loss or damage directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with any delay or failure to deliver within the estimated time frame.

Bulk Rates (Recommended for Book Clubs, Libraries, Corporates)

Readings offers the following discounts on orders for multiple copies of the one item:

• 5 to 9 copies – 10% discount
• 10 to 19 copies – 15% discount
• 20 plus copies – 20% discount

This discount is in addition to the free freight within Australia that applies to any order of two or more items.

Libraries and Schools

Institutional Customers - such as libraries and schools - order books, CDs and DVDs in bulk from Readings by placing their orders through the Readings website. Readings appreciates the support that Institutional Customers show by ordering from Readings and supporting independent bookselling. Christmas Deliveries

To ensure that your items are received in time for Christmas Day please make sure that online orders are placed by the following dates:

• Monday 8 December 2008 for overseas orders.
• Thursday 18 December 2008 for Australian orders.

Gift Wrapping

We can gift-wrap your order for no additional charge. There is also the option to include a message to the recipient that can be written on a Readings gift tag.

You may like to make a donation to the Readings Foundation for gift wrapping. The Readings Foundation supports charities including the Brotherhood of St Lawrence, La Mama Theatre, World Vision to name a few.

Returns and Cancellations

Items ordered online can be returned and exchanged within 14 days either online or in-store. Returned items must be in mint condition and can be exchanged for another item of equal or more value if the difference is paid. There are no cash refunds.

You may cancel your online order or an item on your order by Contacting Us and quoting your Order Number. We need 48 business hours notice prior to shipping to guarantee online order cancellations.

Cancelling items on orders that are not in-stock may incur a fee of 10% of the item price.

Faulty Goods

Faulty goods can be replaced or money refunded can be refunded. Please contact us with a description of the fault and we send you a Reply Paid envelope. Please indicate whether you would like a replacement or refund.

Bargain Items

Bargain items are made available at a heavily discounted price and are not always available in mint condition. They are sometimes supplied to us with worn edges or texta marks due to their low prices. If you wish to enquire as to the quality of a Bargain item before purchasing online please feel free to contact us.
