We judged our Very Hungry Caterpillar Colouring Competition yesterday in the Readings office. Readings art specialist Margaret and children's book specialist Leanne joined forces to choose two winners from the 105 entries to receive giant caterpillars.

That's the caterpillar that was up for grabs. We tweeted the
judging process on the Readings twitter and here's
how it played out:

The Hungry Caterpillar colouring comp judging begins.

Good work from Hana here.

Some nice colour-smudging here from Tristan.

How fantastic do they all look lined up together!
The use of non-traditional caterpillar colours here is inspiring.

Our Art specialist Margaret thinks the hearts on this one are
particularly Jim Dine-esque.

Best scissor work we've seen thus far.
Some nicely
glued wool here.
The judging is getting serious now. You can tell by the looks on
Margaret's and Leanne's faces.
Here is the longlist. We'll have a winner soon.
Here are the runners-up. Good and bad luck to Aisha and
Bella.

Winner number 1 is Haruna. Creative use of mixed-media, colour and
pattern, but also good technique.

Winner number 2 is Nicholas. Intense bold colours, and technique
equal to many older entrants.

And thanks to our excellent colouring competition judges - Margaret
and Leanne. A tough job, well done.
