The 2012 Melbourne Jazz Festival is almost here
Readings is excited to be a part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival again in 2012.
This year the festival features artists such as Joe Chindamo, Terence Blanchard (pictured above), Dee Dee Bridgewater and Japanese composer/pianist Hiromi.
As well as being an official sponsor of the festival, Readings will be selling CDs at select gigs. You can see our range of 2012 Jazz Festival CDs here.
Here’s the official blurb:
The Melbourne International Jazz Festival brings Melbourne to life this winter from 1 – 10 June, entertaining jazz aficionados and newcomers alike with more than 300 musicians and 100 events creating unforgettable experiences. The rich 2012 program brings jazz into the heart of Melbourne with late-night art parties, intimate club gigs, film screenings, masterclasses, daily free concerts, Evening Soundwalks and events for families and children.
To get you in the mood to the festival here’s a wonderful live performance from Hiromi, taken from her album Time Control.
