Our bestselling children’s books of last week include all three books of Aaron Blabey’s hilarious Bad Guys series. We LOVE this series and can’t recommend highly enough. The first book is shortlisted for our Readings Children’s Book Prize, and here are five reasons why we think it’s brilliant.

One other book from our Prize shortlist also proved popular last week: The Cat with the Coloured Tail is a magical fable from Australian author Gillian Mears, with gorgeous illustrations by Dinalie Dabarera. We were deeply saddened to learn about Mears’ death. As our Managing Director Mark Rubbo said, ‘Gillian was a wonderful writer and enriched all our lives – we will miss her.

And, for YA fans, our bestsellers list also includes a powerful novel set during WWII from Newbery Honor award-winning author Kimberly Brubaker Bradley: The War That Saved My Life.
