Text Classics Page to Picture series – the first Wednesday every month (from June - October, 2012). A series of events in celebration of Australian Text Classics.
Watch a film adaptation of an Australian Text Classic and stay for a panel discussion about the book and film with a team of industry experts including film’s producer Margaret Fink, The Age’s Debi Enker, writer and broadcaster Ramona Koval and Jo Case, associate editor of journal Kill Your Darlings.
The adaptation of Miles Franklin’s ‘My Brilliant Career’ starring Judy Davis and Sam Neill, will screen on Wednesday 5 September. This was award-winning director Gillian Armstrong’s first feature film and has, along with the novel on which it’s based, established itself as one of Australia’s cultural treasures.
