Melbourne Jewish Writers Festival

Lamm Jewish Library of Australia, 304 Hawthorn Rd, Caulfield South

Jews have forever been people of the book, not just the book but every kind of book. Jewish hunger for the written word is legendary. Now in a new literary event, Melbourne celebrates books and writing by and about Jews.

Comedian, actor, broadcaster and novelist Rachel Berger will kick of the festivities with a night of storytelling from inspired writers at Gala Opening Night on 31 May, followed by two action-packed days of interviews, panel discussions and book signings. The Gala event will take place at Glen Eira Town Hall, while all other sessions will be held at Lamm Jewish Library of Australia.

Festival guests include celebrated international authors Dara Horn, Matthue Roth, Zeruya Shalev and more, alongside local writers such as Andrea Goldsmith, Elliot Perlman, Maria Tumarkin, Howard Goldenberg and Arnold Zable.
