An evening with Germaine Greer

Melbourne Athenaeum, 188 Collins St Melbourne

Germaine Greer has been changing women’s lives since the late 60s. In celebration of her latest book, which is part-biography and part-history titled Shakespeare’s Wife, we are honoured to have Germaine with us in our celebration of International Women’s Day.

Shakespeare’s Wife is a fascinating reconstruction of Ann’s life, and the daily lives of Elizabethan women. It offers an illuminating portrait of their working routines, the rituals of their courtship and the minutiae of married life.

Bring your daughters, your mothers, your sisters – and please bring the males too! With an introduction by Moira Rayner, this is a marvellous opportunity to hear a great social commentator reflect on past lives – and therefore on our future too.

Tickets $10 from all Readings bookshops and online.
